Reduction
of mortality

Reduced presence of pathogenic bacteria
in the building (salmonella, Enterococcus faecalis, E.coli)

  • Create a positive biofilm in the building
  • Improve the building environment

Goals

Cobiotex technology is based on multi-strains bacteria complex specifically formulated to obtain an optimal implantation in farms.

Spatial competition and adhesion capacity: Our bacterial strains have a strong ability to adhere to even the most difficult substrates, such as stainless steel. This optimal fixation guarantees implantation.

Nutritional competition with the other bacteria from the environment: Thanks to their enzymatic equipment and rapid multiplication, our bacterial complexes guarantee colonization.

Inhibition capacity: Our bacteria produce inhibition mechanisms against pathogens present in the environment, reducing the sanitary pressure on the farm.

Bacteria recognized as safe for humans, animals and the environment (QPS – EFSA)

Answers to your questions

What is the difference between Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit'?

Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' are formulated from the same high performance bacterial complex, ensuring identical hygiene benefits for livestock buildings. The main difference is in the format and method of application, offering solutions tailored to the specific needs of livestock farmers.

Cobiotex 410 is a ready-to-use powder packed in 25 kg bags. It is easy to apply by hand on the areas to be treated, making it an ideal solution for surfaces such as cubicles in dairy farming.

Cobiotex Elit is a concentrated, water-soluble formula that must be diluted before application. It is particularly suitable for fogging, spraying, or foaming and is often preferred for straw-bedded areas in livestock buildings.
The choice between these two solutions depends on the farmer's practices and preferences, while providing effective, long-lasting protection thanks to the action of positive bacteria.

Is Cobiotex technology compatible with all types of bedding?

Yes, Cobiotex technology is perfectly compatible with all types of bedding used in livestock buildings, whether straw, wood shavings, or even cubicles with rubber or concrete surfaces. The beneficial bacteria in Cobiotex products can grow efficiently on these substrates, provided the pH is neither too high (above 9) nor too low (below 4).

The effect of Cobiotex technology remains constant and ensures the maintenance of a healthy environment regardless of the type of litter or housing used. Bacteria adhere and create a protective biofilm, optimizing hygiene and helping to reduce pathogens.

Is it possible to use Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' products in combination with chemical products?

Yes, the use of Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' products to complement chemical solutions is possible and even recommended in certain cases.

For monogastric farms, prior disinfection of the building is essential before applying Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' products. This step optimizes the colonization of beneficial bacteria and accelerates the action of the protective biofilm, guaranteeing rapid and long-lasting results.

In ruminants, prior disinfection is not systematically required. However, chemicals must be only used before the introduction of Cobiotex technology bacteria. Once the protocol is in place, the use of chemicals must be stopped or strictly limited to maintain the biological balance established by the beneficial bacteria.

What are the advantages of Cobiotex 410 in comparison with the drying products currently in use in livestock farming, especially for dairy cows?

Bacterial growth in an environment depends on four key factors: pH, moisture, nutrient availability, and space. Drying agents only act on moisture, which limits their impact. Moreover, they need to be applied daily to maintain favorable conditions.

Cobiotex 410, on the other hand, offers a global approach by acting on three essential parameters:

- pH regulation: The lactic acid bacteria present release lactic acid to lower the pH and create an unfavorable environment for pathogens.

- Rapid colonization: The selected strains grow rapidly and have a strong ability to adhere to different substrates. They quickly colonize the space, reducing the opportunity for undesirable bacteria to develop. They create a protective, long-lasting biofilm.

- Nutrient competition: Cobiotex technology-positive bacteria, when added to the environment, compete for the same nitrogen and carbon substrates as undesirable bacteria, limiting their development.

Thanks to the synergic action of our strains, Cobiotex 410 only needs to be applied once a week, saving time for the farmers an d improving hygiene control in livestock buildings.

Can Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' products be used in the presence of animals? Are they safe in case of accidental ingestion by animals?

Yes, Cobiotex 410 and Cobiotex Elit' products are perfectly safe to use in the presence of animals. Formulated with beneficial bacteria recognized by EFSA as QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety), they present no risk to humans, animals, or the environment. This certification demonstrates the safety of the bacterial strains used, with no risk of mutation into pathogenic agents.

Although hygiene range products are not designed to be ingested, their composition ensures that there is no toxicity in the case of accidental ingestion by animals. Moreover, they do not require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), making them safe and practical for livestock farmers to use.

What equipment is recommended for the application of Cobiotex Elit' in monogastric buildings?

Cobiotex Elit' can be applied using a wide range of equipment thanks to its water-soluble formulation and the resistance of its bacteria to variations in pressure and temperature. It is compatible with nebulizers, foam lances, and electric or thermal sprayers. Cobiotex Elit' offers great flexibility to meet the specific needs of monogastric buildings.

To ensure optimum product efficacy, any application equipment that has previously contained disinfectant must be carefully cleaned to avoid any interaction that could alter the active bacteria.

It is also recommended to prepare the solution immediately before use.
